The “man your man could smell like” is back!

Old Spice has released yet another hilarious commercial starring overnight superstar Isaiah Mustafa as the confident and multi-talented spokesperson for the reinvented brand of men’s grooming products.

Their previous hit commercial quickly went viral online and now boasts a staggering 11 million views on YouTube plus almost 40 million views across the entire channel for their collection of 15 and 30 second commercials.

Not only is Old Spice reaping the rewards of their hit marketing campaign, but star Isaiah Mustafa has also experienced a huge change in his career.

NBC/Universal recently announced they had signed Mustafa for a talent deal.

“We felt he was a piece of talent worth developing. He’s an attractive guy who’s just as funny and charming,” NBC Universal casting executive VP Grace Wu told Variety.

What do you think about Old Spice’s new commercial? Better than the original or not so much?

It was nothing but a sleepless night for many Twi-hards who caught the midnight screening of “Eclipse” Tuesday night, but not for the obvious reason. The teaser trailer for the much-anticipated “Paranormal Activity 2″ debuted preceding “Eclipse” and it’s clear that once again, we’re going home with nightmares.

“Paranormal Activity,” the supernatural thriller by first time director Oren Peli, cost him only $15 K to make, but made over $36 million. It’s been compared to cult classics like “The Blair Witch Project,” and made this amateur director a star.

The trailer for the sequel starts out with a clip from exactly where the last movie left off, reminding audiences just how terrifying the horror flick was.

The next scene is a young child’s room. A baby sleeps alone in her crib as a mobile turns quietly above. A dog rests on the floor. Loud, thumping footsteps can be heard in the distance.

Clips of the rest of the house flash across the screen. Pots and pans in the kitchen are touched and moved by some invisible force. A rocking chair creaks as it glides back and forth, yet no one sits in it.

The loud, thumping footsteps can still be heard, increasing in volume.

Suddenly, the dog is alerted, it jumps up and begins to bark just as a dark, shadowy figure appears in the doorway. The baby is missing from her crib. The text “Paranormal Activity” flashes across the screen, and the trailer is over.
The teaser alone is enough to cause nightmares. It is suspenseful, tense, and pokes at one of human kinds weakest points: babies. The vulnerable child alone in her room causes panic to audiences.

What is so interesting about this trailer is that it, like the original, is relatively simple. It employs no music and opts, instead, for white noise and the film’s authentic audio. With no distracting music and fancy editing, viewers are focusing only on what they see.

The static, choppy editing of both the original movie and the trailer create an air of suspense. Just as you prepare yourself for something to jump out at you, nothing happens. Then, when you least expect it, you’re hopping out of your chair with goosebumps on your arms because you’ve been so surprised by something terrifying.

The teaser for “Paranormal Activity 2” reveals very little about the plot of the frightening film—all we know is that it, apparently, involves a baby, more phantoms, and a dark, shadowy woman-figure (presumably the wife again).

We’re confident that Peli will create another suspenseful, horrifyingly scary thriller.

If “Paranormal Activity” is any indication, we can expect that the sequel will definitely haunt audiences for weeks after seeing the film.

“Paranormal Activity 2” will hit theatres October 2nd, 2010.

In a rare appearance as the interviewee, broadcasting legend Larry King was in studio to talk about his mystic powers on the morning he announced the end of his nightly CNN talk show.

King broke the news to the world Tuesday night that he is hanging up his suspenders after 25 years of the show to spend more time with his wife and two sons. In the interview that morning with Ryan, he hinted to this huge change in his life but overall kept mum saying, “I can’t talk about it yet.”

What could become his next lucrative career, King put on display his “psychic powers” saying his extra sensory abilities are at times “a curse,” yet he graciously agreed to perform dream analysis and readings on many callers to the show.

Larry made predictions for our listeners such as “stay away from anyone named Phyllis”, and dream interpretations indicating that one caller secretly longed to work in a zoo.  Another caller was informed that she was in love with her brother-in-law; Larry advised her to spend some alone time with the man at a “Coffee Bean.”

His clairvoyance ran the gamut from what horse to bet on at the track, to advising some people to dump their mate and find another. It seemed that there was nothing King couldn’t predict! And he seemed to get quite a kick out of doing so.  Our phone lines lit up with listeners wanting Larry to look into their future.

Elaborating on the negative side of his talent, King exclaimed: “I wish I didn’t have it! It’s a curse to know what you’re thinking right now…it drives me nuts! If I knew where it came from, I would get rid of it!”

What was so particularly exciting about King’s interview on KIISFM was that we were exposed to a side of him most people had never seen before. Gone was his rigid, broadcaster persona and in it’s place was a funny, sneaky, jokester. His predictions made us all laugh and wonder if he really does have a “sixth sense.”

Though Larry has spent 53 years in broadcasting, he still loves it, and told Ryan he would jump at the chance “in a minute” to partner with him and do an impromptu morning radio show.  The two hosts exchanged ideas about the potential for their future together, with Larry even inventing a new stage name for Ryan, “Atlanta Seacoast.”

Working with CNN, King claimed to miss “humor. I don’t get a chance to do humor, so that’s why I go do stage performances.”

Don’t forget to tune into the last episodes of “Larry King Live” Monday through Sunday 9pm PT/ET and 6 pm PT on CNN!

Resident bachelor of the hit series, “The Hills,” Brody Jenner was in studio today to discuss the upcoming final episode of the long running reality show. Joining him on the phone lines were fellow cast mates Kristin CavallariStephanie Prattand series creator Adam Divello.

The frequently sharp tongued Kristin kept her remarks on the vague side for the most part, especially when asked about her current flame, cameraman Miguel Medina. Stating that he was “unlike any other guy she had dated before,” Kristin clammed up when Ryan tried to get more juicy details. As for how the romance began, Kristin shyly said, “you’re together all the time, it just sort of happens! I don’t want to talk about it!”

When Ryan inquired about whether it was awkward between Kristin and Brody since they were once an “item”, Brody stated that he thinks of Kristen “like a sister.” A sister he once hooked up with? Now that’s awkward!

Regarding the show‘s demise, Brody says he’s “sad.” The cast and crew has become a “big family” to him.

Although the popular reality show’s long run is over, Jenner claims to be “ready to move on.”

As rumors swirl on the Internet about his new relationship with pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne, Brody was ambiguous and didn’t confirm or deny the rumor.

Brody was somewhat evasive when Ryan asked him for details about how the ‘The Hills’ would end saying that he’ll be just as “surprised” as all the other viewers.

Kristin, on the other hand, proved to be much more forthright as she talked about her friendships, fallouts and romantic dalliances both on and off the show.

Rumors that Lo refused to appear on the show when she learned Kristin would be there could be unfounded; Kristin claimed to have spent time with Lo recently, attempting to squash the rumor that the two girls were on the outs With this group though, one never knows, as it has been fraught with headline making drama since it’s earliest days almost six years ago.
Ryan tried to press Stephanie for information about her brother Spencer Pratt’s state of marital bliss (or lack thereof) as the tabloids continue to report that the union between he and Heidi has hit the rocks.  Stephanie claimed to be out of the loop when it came to the potential divorce, while Kristin speculated that she wouldn’t put it past either of them to fake a divorce for publicity. Divello seemed to be just out of the know saying if “Stephanie doesn’t know” then no one does.
While some assumed that the tension between the Pratt siblings was just a front for the show, the estranged relationship continues even when the cameras aren’t rolling, confirming that the tension between the siblings is probably real.
Creator Adam Divello and the rest of the ‘Hill’s’ cast promise an exciting, shocking, and bittersweet final episode. The content of the episode, Divello informed us will contain “stories being paid off…everybody is kind of coming at peace with their stories we’ve been following along. I think a few of them definitely found happiness and found what they were looking for. It’ll be an exciting ending and we definitely have a couple surprises up our sleeves that the cast doesn’t even know about.”
Former ‘The Hills’ cast members Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port will be making an appearance at the finale after show, along with the rest of the current ‘Hill’s’ cast.

Tune in to the final episode of The Hills this Monday at 10 pm on MTV!

Greetings from Kelly Urich, the most trusted name in music!

President Obama will be here July 8 to attend a Democratic fund raiser.  Michelle Obama will be here a few days later to attend the national NAACP convention.  Joe Biden will be here later to attend a Masonic Lodge meeting.

The St. Louis Cardinals were in town for the I-70 series against the Royals, so that explains the mullet-fest that happens when all the St. Louis people invade Kauffman Stadium.  Most of them come here because they’re not used to going to a ball game and coming back to their car to find it in one piece.

The 2010 MLB All-Star game will cost Jackson County tax payers $500,000 to pay for FanFest, Home Run Derby and other downtown events, but it will bring $50 million in economic benefits.  $50 million?  That won’t even buy you a pitcher these days.  These salaries are outrageous…GET OFF MY LAWN YOU DARN KIDS!!

A nutrition watchdog group is threatening to take McDonalds to court because it claims the Happy Meal toys use your kids to manipulate you to going to their restaurants and spending your money.
**If your kids manipulate where you’re eating…you lost control as a parent a long time ago.

The smell of smoke forced the evacuation of a Midwest Airlines plane last Monday moments after it landed at Kansas City International Airport.  On board were some cast members of “Little House on the Prairie,” which opens tonight at Starlight Theatre.  An air chute deployed and all 104 passengers escaped safely.
**One of the passengers was spotted running across the prairie yelling, “PA!  PA!”

Whiteman Air Force Base is gaining about 280 personnel for a new mission involving drone aircraft.  The Air Force has decided to make Whiteman the ground control station for its MQ-1 Predator. The airplanes are used primarily for reconnaissance missions and are operated by pilots who remain on the ground.  The personnel will be based at Whiteman; the planes will be deployed elsewhere around the world.
**And they said majoring in Space Invaders at JUCO would never pay off for me.

Something new at Union Station.  The IRS tax payer assistance office will open soon to help tax payers with questions and people who are struggling to pay taxes.
**How about those of us struggling to pay off our bi-state tax?

A South African woman has come up with a unique solution to help fight rape. She has invented female condoms with teeth around them; the insides of the condom have jagged teeth-like parts. The condoms can be used like tampons by women; the teeth would latch themselves around a man’s tallywacker.  The product has yet to be given a name.

TOP 5 NAMES FOR THIS DEVICE:

#5.  Missile Defense System.
#4.  Stoplight on Johnson Drive.
#3.  The Beaver Cleaver.
#2.  Banana Peeler.
#1.  The Clampon.

Welcome to summertime.  The most overheard phrase in Kansas City is now, “Is it hot enough for ya?”  That just replaced, “Is that thing loaded?”

Since they started charging $2 admission at Deanna Rose in Overland Park, attendance has dropped 10 percent, and that’s exactly what Overland Park wanted.
**The goal is to keep poor people out of Overland Park.

Interesting fact:  Did you know there are 2,527 miles of underground sewers in Kansas City?  There’s the answer to our public transportation problem right there.  Instead of light rail we need a log flume ride for commuters.

There was a line around the block Thursday morning at the Country Club Plaza Apple store.   People camped out all night to get the new iPhone.  It’s called the 4G phone but it operates on a 3G network.  AT&T won’t have 4G phones available until 2011.  All the fancy gadgets leave me longing for the days of the good ol’ rotary dial phone.

I want a phone with a long chord and a rotary dial.

I want a phone where call waiting means you wait until I’m finished talking to the person I’m giving my full attention to.
I want a phone that rings and I get to yell, “I got it!” so everyone knows stay off.
I want a phone that stays where it’s supposed to be so I don’t have to go looking for it.
I want a phone where the voice message is a little post-it-note from a live person who actually took the call.
I want a phone that says, if your thoughts aren’t worth using your vocal chords, I don’t want to read your text.
I want a phone where the only app is the sticker that goes behind the dial to let you know what number your finger is in.
I want a phone that doesn’t sync with anything.
I want a phone that doesn’t require a weekend of playing to figure out what the hell it does.
I want a phone that doesn’t accidentally call people when I’m yelling at my kids.
I want a phone that requires me to memorize numbers of important people in my life.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star Dev Patel spoke to Ryan Seacrest Monday to tackle the rumor that he and girlfriend Freida Pinto are the newest couple headed down the path of engagement.

Ryan confronted Patel, about the recent reports that Dev and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ co-star Freida recently got engaged.

LISTEN | Dev Patel Squashes Engagement Rumors

“No….that’s rubbish,” said Patel. When asked about whether or not he is indeed dating her, he replied, “yeah… kind of.”

When Ryan jokes and says that by saying ‘kind of’ when he is in fact in a relationship, “is kind of a problem” and will get him into some trouble with the lady. Patel quickly replies by saying “No we are, we are.”

“The Last Airbender”, written, produced and directed by the talented M. Night Shyamalan, is an action-adventure fantasy film scheduled to be released on July 1, 2010, where Patel plays Prince Zuko. When asked about his character and whether he was playing a “good guy or a bad guy”, Patel responded by telling us that his character plays “a bit of both. Everyone calls him evil, but more than anything, he’s just a confused boy, bursting into manhood, struggling to find the right path.”

The cartoon may portrait more of an evil character but Patel explains to us that his character, Prince Zuko, of whom is banished by his father, “Is just a child struggling to regain his honor in love.”

Patel, who replaced Jesse McCartney as Prince Zuko, tells us that since the success of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, he has not yet decided to move to Hollywood, and his life has been somewhat relaxed, besides shooting this film. Patel, who currently resides in London, considers himself a bit of a “travelling gypsy” as he is constantly “all over the place.”

With the upcoming premiere of “The Last Airbender”, Patel will embark on a press tour and tells us that he is somewhat “nervous- I’m biting my fingernails.”
Patel managed to familiarise himself with the animated tv series before he started shooting, by catching a few episodes on his ‘down-time’ while shooting ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in India.

Being a huge fan of martial arts and being a fan of all the “Bruce Lee, Jet-Lee’s, Jackie Chan’s”, Patel tells us how this animated cartoon contains a wide variety of martial arts and visual effects. Being a black-belt, and active in taikwando for the last eight years, Patel describes the movie as the type of movie that “brought out the inner child in me.”

 M. Night Shyamalan, who calls himself “Night”, is, according to Patel, “a real family man” and also goes on to tell us that the biggest fans of the movie, in his opinion, are probably that of his 3 young daughters.

“The Last Airbender” also stars “Twilight”’s Jackson Rathbone and hits theatres this Thursday, July 1.

In his first television appearance since he infamously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West made his triumphant return to the spotlight at the BET Awards, performing his new single “Power”.

West performed atop a platform designed to look like a towering volcano with an eruption of fog shooting skyward behind him every time he rapped the word “power.” He was mostly silhouetted by a giant video screen showing beautiful images of mountaintops.
