Executive Producer of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Sheri Salata phoned in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Thursday morning to chat about the final episode of the iconic 25 year-long talk show as well as revealed Oprah’s classic meltdowns of the past!

As for the current show “Season 25: Behind the Scenes,” Sheri says, “[Viewers] love our shenanigans.” Adding, “they like to see that we are vulnerable, that we make mistakes, that balls are dropping as fast as they come flying at us. I like to give the staff credit because they have a good attitude about that.”

With the confirmed date of the final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to be May 25th, Salata reveals Oprah to have no regrets, explaining, “no, I think she is very much at peace with it. The number 25 feels right to her. Doing a daily show for 25 years is tough. It almost feels militaristic some days.” Adding, they came faced with the truth “theres nothing new left for us to do and say in this platform.”

So what will the final episode entail? Salata kept mum admitting, “Oprah and I are working on it cloaked in secrecy.” Yet, she did reveal as for the “third to the last, and second to the last [show], Oprah’s given the producers two hours to do whatever we want with and she’ll know nothing about it, so we have calls out all over music industry, film industry, all many guests who’ve been on the 25 years.” Concluding the creation of the final episode as, “interesting thing we’ve been really open to what the end should feel like…and it’s kind of hapening organically,” confirming at the least, “we’re not going to a different continent…[just want] Oprah in feel surprise and delight mode.”

With 25 years worth of daily production, Oprah’s bound to have had a meltdown or two, which Salata lightheartedly shared confessing, “she had a huge meltdown when she did her first interview with Sidney Poitier. She held it together for the interview, came back to the control room afterwards and put her head down on the control room desk and cried for twenty minutes because the emotion of remembering being a little girl and watching him win an Oscar and all these years later she’s sitting across from him and they’re having this conversation on her televsision show.” Salata also remembered, “then there’s the famous Mary Tyler Moore surprise, which she totally lost it on because Mary’s one of her heros.”

Listen to more from Sheri in the full interview above as well as catch the final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey” show May 25.

As for “The Source Code,” Jake admitted “as soon as I read the script I knew it was something that worked” adding, “the first ten pages was non-stop tension.” The film revolves around Jake’s character Colter Stevens, a US army helicopter pilot who crashed in Afghanistan and comes to find himself aboard a crowded train-and in someone else’s body! Starring opposite Jake is Michelle Monaghan who plays Christina and although the films a sci-fi thiller Jake admits “it’s actually a love story because these two people fall in love while on the train.”

Aside from acting, Jake’s also passionate about getting kids to eat healthier, revealing his role within the project entitled “The Edible Schoolyard” with Chef Alice Waters. “The whole philosophy is trying to get edible gardens into public schools so children can learn.” Jake further explained, “if you change the way a kid looks at how things grow, and they have the opportunity to see where food comes from, you can change their lives.”

As for all those rumors regarding Jake stepping in as the new Jason Bourne, Jake admitted, “all I can tell you is I love all past three ones, I know nothing about anything else…I’m not one of the people involved.”

With Jason Bourne out of the picture for Jake, he divulged he’s actually working on an upcoming film by “Training Day” writer David Ayer, revealing, “I’m playing an LAPD officer.”

TV host Howie Mandel called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Thursday morning to talk about his new Fox television special “Mobbed,” as well as upcoming “America’s Got Talent,” his opinion on Charlie Sheen’s issues-and even his own!

Howie explained, “you Ryan are one of the inspirations for this show,” alluding to Ryan’s Scope flash mob “Smile,” which even featured his mother, Connie. Mandel explains the desire for “Mobbed” as, “there might be a lot of people who don’t know what a flash mob is, which is a spontaneous combustions of musicals. People sing and dance in public spaces like malls and train stations, and I’ve been following them for five years…. Millions of people are downloading them worldwide.”

Yet “Mobbed” as Mandel explains, “takes it one step further,” presenting us with the idea, “what if your were trying to convey a message that would change somebody’s life? What if your wanted to tell your boss to take this job and shove it? What if you wanted to tell someone you were pregnant and he’s the father?…What do you think would happen?…We want to smash that privacy and do it publicly.” Mandel seems to suggest he accomplished just that-as the one time special which premieres tonight immediately after “American Idol” (FOX 8/7c), features a pregnancy annoucement which shocks the person involved, causing Mandel to reveal “I may have gone too far.”

Aside from “Mobbed,” Mandel’s on to host upcoming season of “America’s Got Talent,” which Mandel reveals he has a plan for: “I am on a new mission this season. Piers [Morgan] and I, we butt heads…he’s been calling me the most annoying man on television…this year I am spending my time annoying him to no end.”

As for the recent rumors Mandel may be possibly sympathetic towards Charlie Sheen, Howie revealed, “I empathize…obviously he had some issues with substance, and that is addiction, which is a mental health issue, and he’s dealing with this in whatever way he chooses to in coping and I empathize because I personally have been very open about my health issues.” Howie further confessed such ‘health issues’ as “I have OCD and ADHD, and I’ve suffered from depression, and as I talk to you right now I am medicated…I don’t want to exploit his issues, he’s exploiting them fine and selling out like crazy.”

To hear more from Howie listen to the full interview above and be sure to tune in to “Mobbed” tonight, which airs right after “American Idol” on FOX 8/7c.

Take a look back at Ryan’s flash mob which Howie gained inspo from below! As well as previews of tonight’s “Mobbed.”

Theme nights in general on “American Idol” always seem to pose certain difficulties for the contestants. When narrowing down the theme to only Elton John tracks is when the boundaries, artistic integrity, and comfort zones are put to the test.

Some stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park, while others struck out, hoping to return to the mound next week.

Here is a short recap of Wednesday nights episode of “American Idol” and the *grades felt deserved.

Scotty McCreery, ‘Country Comfort’: Scotty always has a few doubters out there who wonder what he will bring to the table when his song choices are not country rooted. Yet he always seems to silence critics by throwing his heart and soul into whatever song he’s given, and the judges praise him every time for it.
Grade A

Naima Adedapo, ‘I’m Still Standing’: Much like the way Scotty adds his country feel to every song, Naima does the same with her reggae flavor. From her Rasta jumpsuit, to her Bob Marley-esque technique, Naima shows her uniqueness and passion, however it seems to keep falling short. Both Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson said it was a better idea than payoff.
Grade C-

Paul McDonald, ‘Rocket Man’: Paul, sported a flower embroidered country suit that he loves so much (having worn several times now) to give his rendition of ‘Rocket Man.’ It didn’t knock the judges off their feet, but rather gave them a soft nudge. Although being pitchy at times Randy admitted that when Paul reaches that point in the song where he uses his soft tone it “becomes so infectious.”
Grade B-

Pia Toscano, ‘Don’t let the Sun Go Down on Me’: Last week Pia was told to get out of the ballads and go for something up-tempo. Apparently she didn’t listen and went with her gut feeling to perform this “Idol” favorite. Her gut was right on point as she nailed the song and now should be known as the ballad slayer. Pia had a subtle arrangement showing the power of her voice, backed by a gospel choir, hitting all the right spots.
Grade B+

Stefano Langone, ‘Tiny Dancer’: With the bottom three still being apparent in his thoughts, Stefano went with an epic song like ‘Tiny Dancer’ in hopes to rise back to the top. Although definitely putting the judges advice from last week to use in his performance (keeping eye contact and connecting with the fans), it still came off cheesy and poorly arranged.
Grade: C+

Lauren Alaina, ‘Candle in the Wind’: Lauren was given high regards by all the judges, especially Randy who said it “was one of the best Lauren Alaina performances on this stage.” Her confidence radiated, with crisp vocals and poise. Does anyone dare compare that performance to a Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood mashed into one?
Grade: A-

James Durbin, ‘Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)’: James rocked the house, putting on a show, giving the audiences their money’s worth. Throwing the mic, summoning flames, and jumping on the piano, James looked like a seasoned vet with the stage his home. Steven Tyler said he “has a really good rock voice” but to not overstay his welcome. Not too sure what he meant by that, but still good compliments all around.
Grade: B+

Thia Megia, ‘Daniel’: Thia did a very good job at connecting with the song this time. Particularly at the last verse when she let it all out. The judges all seemed to like it, and Jennifer said it “was beautiful,” while Steven felt she found the perfect song to suit her voice.
Grade: B

Casey Abrams, ‘Your Song’: Although still rockin’ the beard Casey went for a more clean cut look to help his chances on proving to America that last weeks performance was a fluke. From beginning to end the song was well performed. Randy reiterated that saving Casey was the best decision he and the judges have ever made on the show. With that being said it was close (with Scotty and Haley) but he get’s performer of the night.
Grade A

Jacod Lusk, ‘Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word’: Jacob threw it all on the line with his performance this week. Ignoring Lovine’s advice to not be overly theatrical, instead a nearly ready to burst into tears Jacob gave a performance that would hopefully make Ms. Mary J. Blige (whom he met when rehearsing this song, and also covered the track herself) proud. Well it sure caught the attention of Steven who loved everything about it.
Grade: A-

Haley Reinhart, ‘Bennie and the Jets’: Haley had an interesting interpretation of this rocker joint. She started off on the piano giving a slow introduction, leading into a bluesy rock vibe,  ending with her stomping the stage and nodding her head. She had found what her strong point was that night and seemed to accept who she was as an artist. The judges all loved how she owned the stage with Randy dubbing it the performance of the night.
Grade: A

The latest poster for the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” hit the web Wednesday giving fans their first look at the film’s sultry mermaids.

Super producer Jerry Bruckheimer was very clear that he wanted the sirens in his film to look very natural.

“I don’t think they had breast augmentation in the 1700s,” Bruckheimer told Entertainment Weekly early this year after casting call postings were specifically anti-implant. “So it’s natural for casting people to say, ‘We want real people.’”

“Pirates” 4 hits theaters May 20.

CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta visited “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” to discuss the radiation risks of cell phones, the effects of “Facebook Depression,” and the current state of Japan earthquake and tsunami recovery efforts.

In recent years, much discussion has been made about the long-term effects of cell phone radiation, and the placement of the phone on one’s person throughout the day.

“I put [my cell phone] on the coffee holder if I’m driving,” said Dr. Gupta who is a frequent Blackberry user. “I use a wired earpiece, not a Bluetooth. I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but it does release a certain amount of radiation. There are certain parts of your body that are more sensitive. Your brain, bone marrow, your crotch for both men and women.”

He goes on to cite research stating, “At the doses that they’ve studied, they’ve never found that it has a health effect, but the average user they studied was a person who used their phone once a week for six months. That’s not most people. So I don’t think those studies mean anything. It’s easy to be safe. I keep it in my back pocket, and I use my wired earpiece. I don’t want to find out in 30 years to find a study that says there was a problem.”

Dr. Gupta explained that children and teens are who he is most worried about receiving cell phone radiation.

“My oldest is five now, and she uses the cell phone to talk to her grandparents. She’s going to use the cell phone her entire life, and that just hasn’t been studied. Her brain is so much more malleable to potential problems.”

In the inteview, Ryan also asked Dr. Gupta about an issue that has been making headlines recently — “The Facebook Depression.” The symptom is described as a feeling of loneliness and depression when a Facebook user compares their number of “friends” and the quality of their “status updates” to others in their online community.

“The biggest risk is about isolation,” said Dr. Gupta. “As connected as we are around the world, we are becoming increasingly isolated as a result of a lot of these social tools. There should be a real push to integrate people more into society so that there actually meeting real people.”

The neurosurgeon turned medical correspondent also talked about how he learned about the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

“[My family and I] were on a very rare vacation… we were down in the Bahamas,” said Dr. Gupta. “I was there for thirty hours, woke up, looked at my Blackberry as many people do and saw that this had happened in Japan. Three hours later I was on my way.”

Have you ever wished that you could cling to walls like your favorite neighborhood superhero? Well, for French urban climber Alain Robert, that wish is a reality. This skyscraping daredevil has scaled various buildings across the world – including China’s Cheung Kong Centre, UK’s Portland House office building, and Australia’s Lumiere Residential building to name a few. He stated that some of his climbs have some socio-political implications – for instance, his climb on the Four Seasons Hong Kong was meant to spread awareness of global warming.

On one of his most recent and most incredible feats, Robert found himself around the rim of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which is a 828m/2717ft tall. Normally, he likes to climb the walls with no restrictions or safety nets because it adds to the excitement of the climb. However, this time around Dubaian authorities mandated that he use a harness and rope for the climb as it is a liability and safety concern. To which, Robert stated, “I do understand. You know, this is such an iconic building so I can understand that even though they are taking care so much about my precious life, they are also taking care a lot of that precious Burj Khalifa.”

Check out some of his death-defying, spider-like scaling skills below:
