2011 is quickly winding down, and many of the worlds most famous musicians are heading to New York City to celebrate in Times Square with Ryan Seacrest. Have you ever wanted to know what your favorite musician listens to? Better yet, what is their favorite song of 2011?

Will.i.Am shares, “My favorite song for 2011 is Avicii‘s version of ‘I Gotta Feeling’ which is called ‘Levels.’ The reason why is because I love his use of the Etta James sample, and his melody with the synthesizer is amazing. Ryan, if you could please play more of that so we can give the spotlight more to the guys that create and write beats that connect the world. I like Flo Rida‘s version too, but Avicci’s version…gotta play that more.”

Fergie of the internationally known Black Eyed Peas hints her favorite song of 2011 ‘sounds like ‘ninja.’ So I’ll just say “Ninjas In Paris” by Jay-Z and Kayne West. That song just gets me hyped!”

Hit songwriter, Taio Cruz, revealed his favorite song of 2011 to be “LMFAO‘s “Party Rock Anthem” just because it got everyone shuffling including me.”

Gym Class Heroes‘ favorite songs of the year ranged from Adele‘s “Set Fire to the Rain” due to “it’s music production” to “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 “because it’s the only song to prominently feature the whistle which I feel is the first intstrument known to man!”

Russell Brand and Katy Perry officially join the other celebrity marriages that didn’t last in Hollywood. After 14 months of being happily married, Russell Brand files for divorce from the “Teenage Dream” singer Friday.

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,” Russell says in statement released to The Associated Press.

Katy Perry Performed At The AMAs Without Her Wedding Ring

Rumors ran rampant over the holidays when the odd couple celebrated Christmas separately in London and Hawaii respectively, and were both photographed without wedding rings.

It was just a mere two years ago when Russell proposed to Katy in India, and subsequently were married in a tiger reserve. Since that day, the two A-Listers appeared nothing but happy.

Russell told The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier this month, “I am really happily married…. I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive.”

Katy also had some kind words to say about their marriage when she appeared on Barbara Walters‘ ABC “Most Fascinating People of 2011” special earlier this month.

“I think that it’s lovely so far,” she said in response to Barbara’s question about her marriage with Russell.

Katy later in the interview comments about having children saying, “Yes of course, I think that is one of the biggest reasons why you do get married.”

Ever wonder why people kiss at midnight on New Years? Or why people scream when the clock strikes twelve? Yes, sometimes it’s because they have consumed a little too much champagne, but did you know it’s also a tradition which has developed over the years due to superstition. Here are some New Years traditions explained, and the history behind them:

1. The Midnight Kiss: The reason you are supposedly supposed to kiss someone at midnight, is because otherwise it is believed that the rest of the year means you will face a year of coldness and lack of affection.

2. Food: Some believe that if you eat black-eyed peas on New Years Day it will attract good luck and fortune. Some also eat ham hocks, collard greens or even cabbage to bring in “luck”.  The food to stay away from? Chicken or turkey. It is believed that eating poultry will bring misfortune.

3.  New Clothes: It is believed that if you do not wear new clothes on January 1st, you will not be receiving many new garments in the new year. Red clothing is preferred for New Year’s Day since red is considered a happy color, and is sure to attract a brighter future for the wearer.

4. Making Noise At Midnight: On New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes midnight people blow on horns, cheer, set off fireworks. Why? It is believed that the loud noise scares away evil spirits. So, not only are you ringing in the new year but you will be starting the new year free from evil.

5. Direction of The Wind: The direction of the wind on New Year’s morning is said to predict prophesies about the coming year. Wind from the south, expect money and happiness. Wind from the north, foresees a year of foul weather. Wind from the east brings famine and bad luck, while wind from the west brings milk and fish, but the death of someone important. No wind = joy and prosperity throughout the year.

5. LAUREN BUSH & DAVID LAUREN
Considering Lauren Bush and David Lauren’s famous fashion backgrounds, you would think their wedding would be accessorized and over the top—but not this couple! Instead, in true fashion (pun intended) of his father’s brand Ralph Lauren, David and Lauren tied the knot in good ol’ Western style. The couple said ‘I do’ over Labor Day weekend at the designers 17,000-acre Double RL ranch in Ridgway, Colorado, in an intimate 200 person ceremony. [SEE PHOTOS]

4. PAUL McCARTNEY & NANCY SHEVELL
Beatles legend Paul McCartney tied the knot for the third time with Nancy Shevell in October in another subtle yet sweet wedding of 2011. The duo made it official in a 45-minute civil marriage ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall—the same spot where he first wed Linda back in 1969. Following the ceremony, the duo was celebrated with confetti from fans awaiting their exit as an official couple. Mr. and Mrs. McCartney then kept with the mellow theme and headed to a reception at their home in the St. John’s Wood neighborhood to celebrate with friends and family amongst champagne and cake. 3. NIKKI REED & PAUL McDONALD
Twilight star Nikki Reed and season 10 American Idol finalist Paul McDonald kept their wedding plans so low key—their subtle engagement surprised fans when announced. After only a mere 7 months together, the duo tied the knot in an intimate Malibu ranch ceremony complete with sunflowers and a performance by Paul himself. The couple’s wedding was so relaxed, they even supplied guests with blankets to sit on picnic-style. [SEE PHOTOS]

Kim’s ‘fairytale’ wedding proved to be America’s royal wedding set at a private estate in Montecito, Calif., in front of 440 guests and later millions of E! viewers. With her sisters rounding out her bridesmaids and nephew Mason as the ring-bearer—Kim and Kris’ wedding was a Kardashian klan event indeed. [SEE PHOTOS]

We posted a lot of great stuff on ryanseacrest.com this year, BUT we were curious to find out your favorite posts of 2011. So we figured out what post you guys clicked on more than any other post this year.

And it turns out your #1 most popular link of the year was a world premiere of a song. But it wasn’t by Rihanna or Adele or Katy Perry. It was Kim Kardashians debut single titled “Jam.” You can listen to it again below!

Kim explains how she got the opportunity to work with The-Dream as “my good friend Ciara was like ‘The-Dream wants your number’ and i was like ‘Please, I’m sure he does’ and she said ‘no seriously he really wants to do a song with you’.” Adding, “[The-Dream said] let’s just have fun. Let’s donate the proceeds, let’s just have fun with it don’t take yourself seriously, try something you’ve never done before.”

Kim is donating all proceeds from the song to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Click here to donate to the hospital directly.

And although we’ll be able to watch Kim recording the song in studio on “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” Kim revealed the experience of recording a single was nerve racking, explaining when she first got in the studio she felt “first, give me a drink!” Further revealing, “I walked out at one point…cause I was scared!”

As to her relationship with Nets player Kris Humphries, Kim divulged “it’s going really well, I’m in a good place…its different with Kris because he lets me be me.” Adding when it comes to her being “me,” “it’s hard to balance it all and he just makes it all calm I can be 100% me and he makes me smile and laugh all the time.” Plus, “he’s the least jealous guy.” As Ryan noted she was radiating with the look of love, Kim responded, “I’m happy, I’m really happy!”

With 2011 coming to a close, we are taking a look at what we have to look forward to in the coming year. 2012 definitely promises to be a year of big blockbuster movies. There will be prequels, sequels, fairy tales, comic book films and more. Below we take a look at 10 of these films that have us waiting at the edge of our seat!

1. The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises” is the third installment and the conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s box office-breaking trilogy. We last saw the caped crusader fleeing into the night after defeating The Joker, and yet being held accountable for the action of Two Face. Since those dark days we now see that through his sacrifice and watchful eye of the vigilante Gotham has progressed in to a time of relative peace. However Gotham City quickly begins to crumble as a new villian enters the fray. (July 20, 2012)

2. The Avengers

Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson have all come together for the first installment of the Marvel comic that will come to life on the big screen. This will be one action-packed movie with incredible actors all in one! (May 4, 2012)

It has been quite some time since the final chapter of “The Lord of the Rings” hit screens, but the prequel to the saga is giving us something to cheer about for 2012. “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows Bilbo Baggins on his journey to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug. This is the first of the two-part epic fantasy film. (December 14, 2012)

There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson. (June 8, 2012)

Based on the Marvel comic book about an unsuspecting boy who, after being bitten by a mysterious radioactive spider, gains exceptional superhero powers, allowing him to score the girl of his dreams as well as save a city in peril. Peter Parker is played by Andrew Garfield of “The Social Network.” Some Spidey-fans might notice slight differences in this version of the comic book favorite. The tone of “The Amazing Spiderman” is much darker than Tobey Maguire’s “Spider-Man.” (July 3, 2012)

6. The Hunger Games

Harry Potter” and “The Twilight Saga” were two huge book-to-movie franchises and following in their footsteps is the first installment of the popular young adult trilogy, “The Hunger Games.” The science fiction action drama is set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister’s place for the latest match. The sci-fi action comedy will also expose several famous names and faces as being aliens in disguise, like in the previous films, only this time they will all be celebrities from the 1960s. (May 25, 2012)

8. Brave

Brave” is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands and focuses on a young princess who defies a sacred custom of the land, inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom, and then makes an ill-fated wish in order to set things right.
