In a candid interview following his first performance since a life-threatening brain hemorrhage, former Poison frontman and reality TV star Bret Michaels exclusively talked to Ryan Seacrest about his new lease on life.

”For me it was a spiritual moment, I was very very excited to do this,” said Michaels of his “Idol” performance, which marked the first since he defied death.

He also detailed what happened when he suffered the brain hemorrhage, specifically what he was watching on a hotel room TV just before he was thrust into a world of pain.

“It was “Busty Cops 3: To Protect & Serve”, and I just happened to gander at it for a moment…I believe that’s when it happened,” said Michaels. “I got a little excited because of the good acting.”

Also watch as Bret meets Lee DeWyze and congratulates him on winning the show (below).
