Chaz Bono, son of Sonny & Cher, called into “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Wednesday to talk about the big reveal of him being a part of the new cast of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.”

Chaz didn’t even tell his mom Cher until right before ABC’s big reveal last Sunday during the Bachelor Pad! Mom definitely approves, saying that she thought it was great and is excited for him.

The 3 time Emmy-nominated transgendered advocate tells us why he wanted to be involved in the dancing show: “It gave me an opportunity to really physically challenge myself. For so many years, I was uncomfortable with my body. And now finally being comfortable in it for the first time, doing something like this was really appealing to me.”

Chaz goes on to tell us that his skill set is very limited, saying he “hasn’t gone to the clubs in 15 years.” However, he’s so relieved that he is partnered with the sexy and sassy Lacey Schwimmer. He raves that he totally digs her firm but positive attitude since he was worried about getting a partner that would shout at him!

He also tells us that he is looking forward to getting to know cast mate David Arquette since he himself has a transgendered sister.

Lastly, Chaz admits that he already got his first experience spray tanning, since it’s a DWTS ritual. He says, it’s “just a part of being on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’”
